ProtectiFlex

Innovative Single Material Solution Against Extreme Loading

protectiflex-blast.png

The product, which resembles lightweight masonry blocks and precast concrete, has enhanced tension-to-strain material characteristics when compared with conventional concrete blockwork and precast concrete.  The proprietary mix provides the material with substantial damping and energy absorption capacities, enhanced strain characteristics and improved lateral resistance in panel construction.

The material’s physical properties makes it ideal for use in ballistic and blast-resistant applications, giving it advantages over in-situ reinforced concrete, precast concrete and conventional masonry.  It is lighter than conventional concrete and demonstrates flexibility combined with an innate ability for energy absorption.

It can be easily integrated within a structural steel or concrete framing or façade system to withstand blast loading and/or forced entry requirements in a wall construction and cast in various shapes.

ProtectiFlex is designed to utilize existing construction implementation practices in the masonry, cast-in-place and/or precast concrete industries, thus providing a cost-effective solution to facility owners.  Our concrete-like material provides for the ability to treat it like a true concrete when manufacturing, allowing for a wider variety of applications that it can be used in.
In its wet cast form, ProtectiFlex is versatile enough to be poured in panels of all sizes and shapes, and has the ability to being cast in a large variety of architectural finishes.  It, too, can be used in new or retrofit applications. The product is very durable, sustainable, environmentally friendly, and provides improved seismic resistance behavior due to the damping characteristics of the product.

Beyond its ability for being cast in a variety of shapes, sizes and forms - By far ProtectiFlex's most effective characteristic is in its performance - It quite simply provides effective security protection from various threats and hazards.  It's ability to effectively stop bullets while leaving only small evidence of a penetration and light damage, the material could conceivably be patched, rather than replaced.  And if it needs replacing, the process of replacing blocks or panels can be achieved with relative ease.  This same ease of replacement is true in the case of panels or blocks more significantly damaged, as the result of a blast or seismic event.

Superior performance, greater varieties of application, and more architecturally appealing shapes and sizes.
