Extreme Load Testing for An Uncertain World

Stone-OBL is a joint venture between StoneSmart and Oregon Ballistics Laboratories (OBL) to provide a full range of engineering and extreme load testing for companies and agencies in need of testing, baseline research, product development, product certification, or material properties verification for blast, ballistics, weapon effects, forced entry, impact and fire resistance performance. 

Stone-OBL has recently developed a large-scale open-arena blast test facility that comes equipped with a concrete test fixture with a 15-ft x 15-ft clear opening, which can be used for single and multi-span building panels or for multiple product tests in a single shot. The fixture can also be customized to support curtainwall, door and glazing testing.  Blast tests using multiple thousands of pounds of TNT equivalent charge weights and various energetic materials can be supported at this large-scale arena.  Stone-OBL also has modular steel fixtures which can be utilized in conjunction with the concrete test for testing multiple product specimens and standoffs in a single shot.  

The facility provides customized blast test programs and setups, incident investigations, and testing replication efforts.
